Smallville Episode Guide – Season Six Finale (cont.)
In this post of the Smallville episode guide, the question of whether or not Clark will actually leave Smallville is going to be addressed. Early on in the final episode of season six, Mrs. Kent is heading to Washington, D.C. to fulfill her duties as senator. Her quote right before she walks out the door to Clark is, “You don’t have to stay on the farm just because I’m leaving.” She basically tells Clark that even though the farm has been in the Kent family for generations, Clark doesn’t have to be responsible for it.
This begs the question: is Clark on his way to Metropolis? It just doesn’t seem as though he is ready to make the journey to a big city. It seems as though he still has some growing up to do back in Smallville. He also doesn’t have the education to become a writer for the Daily Planet, which is the path he takes in the comics. Also, what will become of Lex and Lois as the seem to be the only characters left in Smallville?
Does anybody really think that the show is ready to move from Smallville to Metropolis? Will this cause them to change the name of the show? Haha, just kidding! It just seems like once the show’s setting is primarily in Metropolis, the show is almost over. With the talk being at least one more season (season eight), Clark will likely remain in Smallville. However, I doubt we’ll see much of him on the farm anymore. Also, Senator Kent will likely not be around very often either. It’s just curious what Clark will be doing with is time without a job and without many people in his life living near him (or possibly dead, but that is for a different post!).
I’d love to hear what you think Clark will do!
Matt
