Smallville Episode Guide – Supergirl

Many Smallville fans are turning to Smallville episode guides to figure out what to expect in season seven. As many of them have found out, there is going to be one big addition to the Smallville cast: Kara Zor-El, AKA Supergirl. Laura Vandervoort was cast to play Kara. Vandervoort is 22 years old and was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has had small roles on a variety of television shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Instant Star, and Are You Afraid of the Dark?.

In the show, Kara, who was Clark’s cousin on Krypton, is 19 years old. However, when they were still on Krypton, she was older than Clark. Because of some hyperspace accident, Kara arrives on Earth younger than Clark. In an interview with Vandervoort, she discussed how Kara and Clark see things very differently, and Kara is going to be much edgier than her cousin. As we fans will learn throughout season seven, Kara has developed some powers that Clark has yet to discover. I won’t spoil those for you just in case you want to learn yourselves. However, there are several websites you can check to find the answers if you so choose.

What many Smallville fans often wonder is where all these Kryptonians keep coming from. As most Superman fans understand, Kal-El is known as, among other names, “The Last Son of Krypton.” It just seems a little strange that for the past few seasons, Kryptonians seem to appear on a fairly regular basis for at least a few shows per season. Beyond that, however, is the intrigue Vandervoort’s character brings to Smallville. It seems as though Kara could be a huge hit because some characters may not be returning to the show (wink wink!). One can only imagine how interesting the introduction of Kara will be to Smallville!
