Smallville Episode Guide – Season Six Finale (cont.)

This post in the Smallville episode guide will be the final pertaining to questions related to the season six finale. This is the topic I thought was most interesting to the finale: bizarro Clark. In this episode, there is a phantom that lives inside the bodies of humans in order to keep itself alive. However, the phantom, which we learn is the most dangerous of the phantoms released from the phantom zone, can only live inside the body of a human for 24 hours. That is unless he finds the body of a Kryptonian. Since all the other people died when the phantom left their bodies, how come the phantom only took part of Clark? And is Clark at all affected by this?

Lionel Luthor fortunately shows up to “save the day” by putting Kryptonite on the phantom. Why does the Kryptonite help the phantom if the phantom is Kryptonian? Is the phantom Kryptonian? Sometimes things that happen in Smallville tend to be very confusing. Is the Kryptonite what gave the phantom the ability to make its face turn silver? What the heck does the silver face even mean?

What powers is the bizarro Clark going to possess? Is he going to be just like Clark only stronger and faster? We saw that bizarro Clark was flying towards Clark, so bizarro Clark has the advantage there. It seemed that bizarro Clark was stronger and faster, and he could fly. If bizzaro Clark is stronger and faster, how is Clark going to stop it? We know Clark always finds away to end danger that is strange and/or more powerful than he is, but I just wonder about this one. And really, what is the significance of the silver face?

All this amounts to one thing: what is the phantom’s purpose on Earth now that it doesn’t have to go from body to body just to stay alive? Is it going to try to kill Clark and take over the planet? Is it just going to kill all the humans that it sees? I don’t necessarily see the purpose of leaving this kind of hangover for next season. The show should start lending itself towards Lex Luthor villainy than these mysterious Kryptonians who keep appearing out of nowhere.

I’d love to know what you think about all this!

Matt

Well,
I'm gonna make you a simple question: How many characters will be "fired" from cast?? The writers would not be capable of handle so much playing history-mean chars.
The story is really and PLAIN good.. too much mistery for my taste but, I can't wait for next episodes to come.
I suppose 1 chars gonna die before this 7th season ends, do you know who?
